HORMANN GARAGE DOORS
From the Largest Manufacturer of Garage Doors and Openers in EuropeExperience the Difference of German Engineering
Hormann has been making sectional garage doors for over 60 years and is the market leader in all of Europe. The difference in construction is readily apparent when the door is simply tapped upon. Their highly substantial and dense feeling is unique in the industry, due to the weight and the high density injected polyurethane. Polyurethane can be solid, as for example, how it is processed in skateboard wheels. Typically in the garage door industry the polyurethane is what we at Fast Garage Doors call, “mildly” dense. The density of Hormann’s polyurethane insulation is approximately 3 to 7 times as dense as competitors, this gives it both much greater strength but also an incredibly feeling of quality when rapped upon or simply listening to the door moving. The front and back sheets of steel are compressed together, sandwiching the dense polyurethane with great pressure, forming a tightly bonded composite structure that has an incredibly strength.
Features at a glance are:
– R value 16.1
– Incredibly strong sections due to foam density being many times greater than the industry standard
– Pinch resistant sections, it simply pushes fingers out of the way, it does not smash them.
– Door is 42mm thick
– Rubber wiper seals in between each section. When it rains, water does not fall from the middle of door but only to the outside perimeter edges of the door.
– Specially engineered on the outside face on the woodgrain embossment. Door has “self cleaning” feature so that rain water gathers into the special “micro channels” that are pressed into the door to encourage water and dirt to run off. Also embossing is micro tilted in the downward direction so as to not provide a “ledge” for dust and dirt to stick on.
