SPRINGS
Do it Once... Do it RightQuality Springs… Do it right, Do it once.
Broken springs are known in the garage door industry as one of the mainstays of profitability, and for some strange reason they don’t seem to have a terrible long life. Their lifespan is measured in cycles, with the industry standard being 10,000 cycles. Now perhaps at one time this may have seemed like a lot, but in the Common Era, our garage doors have practically replaced our front doors. Take, for example, a household of 4. If both parents work, and 2 children of different arrival times use a Keypad to enter the house, there may very well be expected 8 cycles a day on this garage door. This equates to around 3 1/2 years of life before a spring will break. Your exact usage will of course vary from this, but we have a principled disagreement against this common practice of using merely 10,000 lifecycle springs.
A common sales gimmick to be found in the industry are “lifetime” springs, but caveat emptor! The devil is in the details, as the saying goes, and this is no exception. Upon further examination or inquiry it can often be found that the future “labour charges” for spring replacement can be much greater than what some others may charge for regular spring replacement rates. Also it’s not terribly uncommon for companies to say that 25k or 50k springs are what they use for “lifetime” springs. Ultimately the real bottom line are the spring’s “Lifecycles” rating. It’s a tradeoff between Lifecycles, cost, and your intention of how long you expect to live in that home. Considering the modern churn rate of people moving for work reasons etcetera, how long can you reasonably expect to live in the same house?
We believe there to be a decent value point for spring Lifecycles to be somewhere around 7x the industry standard or so. For those people who truly intend to live in their house until “death do ye part”, it is probably worth the extra cost of going for 20x the industry standard as that’s a very safe bet that you truly will never have to bother with broken springs again in your life (and perhaps your children’s lives as well!). Accordingly we offer these 2 different standard options (our standards) at very reasonable and decent value points. Furthermore we keep in stock the most popular sizes for most doors and it’s possible to have same day service as well.
We believe it’s time for a paradigm shift in the thinking about garage door springs. Why in the world bother waiting for the inevitable time, which will come, when your springs break and you can’t get out of your garage? Why pay emergency service call rates, as you’re in a real rush needing to get out of your garage and make important appointments? Be proactive and get your springs replaced with true quality springs that you won’t have problems with. It’s not uncommon for quality double wide garage doors to weigh 300 pounds and that’s certainly not what you want to deal with at inopportune times. Be proactive and don’t place yourself in a future bind by giving us a call today…
